Anxious about current events? SAME. Here's some guides to help.

Writer: MariaMaria

Unless you're on the MAGA train, you're probably feeling pretty anxious lately -- particularly if you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community (especially trans), a person of color, a parent of a special needs child, a neurodivergent adult, a person with a disability, a student, a woman, a federal worker, a person with federal benefits.. the list goes on.

I'm here to validate that and offer resources.

There's a whole bunch of people who are saying "don't worry, everything is going to work out and be awesome" as our economy is beginning to fail, trans people are losing their rights, ICE is allowed to enter schools and hospitals and bills are being put forth that would cripple the choices of women and punish healthcare providers for providing care. There's even a law in Arizona put forth right now that would punish healthcare providers who write letters for gender-affirming care.

People are being racially profiled, and fear for themselves, friends or family to be sent to Guantanamo. And what Americans have lined up to take the jobs of immigrants picking fruits, and doing hard labor within this country? I've yet to see any video evidence of happy white folks who really wanted to pick fruit flooding the empty fields because people are in hiding.

Somehow, private prisons are going to flood with people and all of the members of Congress and other billionaires have already invested in those prisons. They will become richer, and you will just become more bitter about people who are "the problem" in this country--- well, unless you can do some critical thinking.

Our practice is not for everyone. But if you want a place for psychiatric care that aligns with your value system and will validate how fucked up everything above is.. you've found the right place!

I'll continue adding resources as we make them but for now, this is what we've got made.
